On date November 8, 2014 SEW: sustainable and ethical waste management project team along with 25 SEW volunteers organized Mass Awareness Campaign in Agriculture and forestry University, Rampur, Chitwan under the chairmanship of SEW team leader Rahul Acharya, Chief guest Prof. Dr. Mohan Prasad Sharma and motivational speaker and our special guest Dr. Hom Bahadur Basnet inaugurated our campaign by keeping the wrapper of chocolate bar in the dustbin.

SEW: sustainable and ethical waste management project is purposed of ten Afu student team for SAYEN Handprint challenge and it has been selected as Top 20 finalists. This project mainly focuses on promoting healthy habit of managing waste with installation of separate dustbins, degradable and non-degradable bins by awaring them about its importance. Mass awareness campaign was done to aware the university proffessors, students, all stakeholder and non-teaching staffs. Our chief guest Prof. Dr Mohan Sharma described the present scenario of our university regarding waste management and discussed some sustainable agendas. Then the Micheal Canteen owner our respective guest gave a inspiring speech on waste management. Swikriti Pandey as the representative of YPARD Nepal gave a speech about YPARD Nepal and told how SEW can proceed further. Sachida Sharma as representative from Yputh Eco Network (YEN) shared her views about waste management. Madan poudel, President of Agri Youth Nepal highlighted the importance of waste management on our university and gave a positive response on further collaboration on such projects. Rahul Acharya as Team leader and me as Project co-ordinator presented an introductory video and presentation about SEW. Our organizer TEM also presented the presentation under leadership of SEW volunteer leader Shilu Dahal and Vice- president of TEM Upakar Bhandari. To add more aroma in Mass awareness campaign our motivational speaker Dr. Hom Bahadur Basnet Sir gave a very motivational and inspiring speech by motivating us to start change from every individual for sustainability of waste management.
AFU and TEM were our organizer whereas our collaborative partners were YPARD Nepal, Agri Youth Nepal (AYN), Youth Eco Network (YEN) and Union of Agriculture and Veterinary Student (UVAS). Mass Awareness Campaign was witnessed by 95 participants and participants gave positive response to this campaign. Indeed, we are very encouraged by the success of this campaign.
